StarCentral Media Group Celebrates 21 Years by Strengthening Filipino–Australian Collaboration at the Philippine International Fashion Festival 2026

StarCentral Media Group celebrated a remarkable milestone as it marked its 21st anniversary during the Philippine International Fashion Festival 2026, an event that highlighted the growing creative collaboration between the Philippines and Australia. Held in Santa Cruz, Laguna and Manila, the celebration brought together fashion designers, media personalities, cultural leaders, and young ambassadors from both countries, reinforcing the strong cultural ties between the Filipino and Filipino-Australian communities.

More than simply an anniversary celebration, the Philippine International Fashion Festival served as a platform for international cultural exchange, showcasing the vibrant partnership between Filipino creativity and Australian-based media and talent development. As an Australian-founded publication with strong Filipino roots, StarCentral Magazine continues to bridge opportunities between the two nations by supporting emerging talent, fashion innovation, and global collaboration.

A Celebration of Filipino–Australian Creative Partnerships

The event highlighted the growing connection between Australia and the Philippines through media, fashion, tourism, and entertainment. StarCentral Magazine, which has long supported Filipino-Australian creatives and models, collaborated with several influential organisations in Laguna to bring the festival to life.

Key partners included the Santa Cruz Tourism Office and the Laguna Designers Elite Group (LDEG), both of which played an important role in showcasing the richness of local Filipino fashion while connecting it to international audiences.

The launch event for the Philippine International Fashion Festival 2026 was spearheaded through the collaboration of StarCentral Magazine Managing Director Mike Ilagan, Fil-Oz Entertainment Collective (FEC) President Eman Reccio, and Santa Cruz Municipal Tourism Officer Rexerizza Boongaling. Their joint efforts created a unique platform where Filipino designers could present their work while engaging with international media and ambassadors connected to the Australian fashion and entertainment industry.

Motorcade Welcomes International Guests to Santa Cruz

The festivities began with an exciting motorcade through the streets of Santa Cruz, Laguna, where residents warmly welcomed the visiting ambassadors and organisers. StarCentral’s International Ambassadors — Emmy, Taisha, Grace, Zara, Milan, Avayiah, and Reeha — participated in the procession alongside key organisers and tourism officials.

Escorted by local police, the motorcade travelled from Metro Central Mall through several major roads and landmarks across the municipality, including the LSPU Santa Cruz Campus, Pedro Guevara Avenue, Burgos Street, and the Santa Cruz Municipal Hall before returning to the mall.

For many in the community, it was a proud moment to see an international event unfold in their hometown. The presence of ambassadors connected to StarCentral’s Australian platform reinforced the festival’s goal of strengthening global cultural exchange.

Preparation and Media Engagement

After the motorcade, preparations began for the afternoon’s runway presentations. Event Director Norman Avenido Abanto led rehearsals to ensure the programme ran smoothly, coordinating stage timing, choreography, and production elements.

Meanwhile, the StarCentral glam team prepared the ambassadors for their runway appearances, completing hair, makeup, and styling to ensure each participant looked polished and runway-ready.

Later in the afternoon, a press conference was held featuring StarCentral’s International Ambassadors alongside officers from the Fil-Oz Entertainment Collective. Members of the Santa Cruz press were given the opportunity to ask questions about StarCentral Magazine’s 21-year journey and the importance of building creative partnerships between the Philippines and Australia.

Fashion, Performance, and Cultural Pride

The official programme was hosted by Karenza De Leon, Vice President of Fil-Oz Entertainment Collective, who welcomed guests and introduced the various segments of the show.

The event began with a moving rendition of the Philippine National Anthem performed by FEC member Chloe Lofthouse, setting a proud and celebratory tone for the afternoon.

StarCentral’s International Ambassadors then made their first runway appearance wearing pieces from the RRJ Apparel Collection. Their confident runway presentation reflected the youthful energy and international outlook that StarCentral continues to promote through its platforms in Australia and beyond.

Adding excitement to the programme was a special dance performance led by FEC President Eman Reccio, featuring ambassadors Emmy and Taisha. The performance highlighted the artistic versatility of the ambassadors while celebrating Filipino performance culture.

The April 2026 Cover Reveal

As the ambassadors walked down the runway holding the newly released issue, the moment represented more than just a magazine launch. It symbolised StarCentral’s continuing mission to connect Filipino talent with global opportunities, particularly through its strong presence within the Filipino-Australian community.
