Senator Manny Pacquiao eventually met up with the recently appointed National Youth Commission (NYC) chairperson Aiza Seguerra during a Senate hearing concerning the drug related issue of summary executions.

Looking back on Senator Pacquiao’s campaign sortie at the height of the national election in the Philippines, the “Pambansang Kamao” revealed his stand on his belief about same-sex marriage.

During an interview, Manny said: “Mas mabuti pa ang hayop, marunong kumilala kung lalaki o lalaki, babae o babae, di ba?

“Ngayon, kung lalaki sa lalaki, babae sa babae, e, mas masahol pa sa hayop ang tao.”

The statement of Manny Pacquiao became viral and a trending topic on Twitter and he was harshly criticized regarding his view about same-sex marriage.

Some of the popular celebrities who sent tirades against Pacquiao were Vice Ganda, American celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and Aiza Seguerra who is married to actress Liza Diño.

Aiza expressed the irritation he felt against the Pinoy boxing champ via the Instagram account by saying:

“I am so f*ckin’ mad I don’t know what to say.

“You might’ve done our country proud but with your statement, you just showed the whole country why we shouldn’t vote for you.

“And yes, I think you are an ignorant, bigoted hypocrite.

“You made me lose all respect that I had for you, Mr. Pacquiao.”

Eventually, the former Congressman issued a public apology to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community who were displeased and resented his statement.

However, in spite of the squabble, there was allegedly no indication of anymosity between NYC Chairperson, Aiza and Senator Manny Pacquiao when they traded words concerning drug related killings during the Senate hearing.

The only uncomfortable situation that emerged was when the Senator questioned Seguerra concerning the latter’s scheme or stratagem to avert the illegal drug use among the youth and impose a clear cut policy to protect the youngsters from being dependent on prohibited drug.

Seemingly, Senator Pacquiao was briefly bewildered about how to formally address the NYC Chairperson Aiza Seguerra who has been very vocal to being a transgender personality.

After the Senate hearing, Aiza Seguerra made it clear during the interview that there was no ill feeling at all that the NYC Chairperson felt against Senator Manny Pacquiao, after the word war occurred between them previously concerning the gender issue.

Aiza said: “It’s a thing of the past,” she continued, “Magkakaiba man kami ng opinion, as long as may mutual respect, I don’t see any problem.”

We remember the expression that says, “All’s well that ends well.”
