Like the majority of showbiz personalities, James Reid is one of them who supports the ongoing intense government campaign against illegal drugs.

In spite of the fact that James and girlfriend Nadine Lustre are busy taping their latest teleserye “Till I Met You,” the actor is pretty much updated with the current events in the country, especially the anti-drugs campaign being pursued by the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The singer-actor revealed that he is in favour of random inspection, notably at many music festivals. James said: “Well, I love going to [music] festivals. I love partying.

“But, I mean, I guess you have nothing to be afraid of if you did not do anything wrong, so why not?”

However, when it comes to revealing the identities of celebrities with the suspicion of being connected to illegal drug trade, James spoke out a differing opinion about this issue.

According to the Kapamilya actor, he is more in favour of the statement released by action star Robin Padilla, suggesting that a proper dialogue with the government authorities should occur first, prior to releasing the names of the alleged celebrities who are involved in the illegal drug activities.

Meanwhile, Robin Padilla said in his previous disclosure that he is not in favour of exposing the names of showbiz personalities suspected of being involved in illicit drugs. He proposed that an appropriate dialogue should first be carried out between the Philippine National Police and the representatives of showbiz celebrities who are in the drug list of President Duterte.

Robin said:”Sumusunod din po sila sa batas. Kung anuman po ang kanilang kakulangan kung ano man po yung kanilang pagkakamali ay sana po mapag-usapan.”

James added: “I think Robin Padilla already spoke out, saying na to think about talking to them first before, like, ruining people’s lives. I think, yeah, I’m more in favour of that.”

James Reid finally said that he approved the idea to undergo drug test when necessary, because he believes that it is better for everyone to stay away from illegal drug use.
